One of the new orchids bloomed!

A beautiful miniature white orchid, purchased at the orchid show at the National Arboretum in October, Phalenopsis equestris alba. Here is a link to the picture.

Some men bring home cut flowers for their wives, and those flowers wither quickly. Mine cultivates orchids for me, and I have an ever-changing display of flowers almost all the time. Right now we have three different orchids in bloom, with two or three more showing signs of blooming before those are finished!

And he cooks for me too! Our nephew decided he "likes corn cakes" when I shared with him today, and declared "Uncle James is a good baker!"

I'm the luckiest woman in the world.
